The 3x1 HDMI Switcher routes high definition video (in multiple resolutions up to 1080p) and digital audio from any one of the three sources to the display unit. It will also amplify the high definition signal allowing the best compatibilities among the different HDMI sources and displays (i.e DishNetwork HD Recevier). In addition, the amplified signal is required if you wish to connect longer (25 meters on both ends) HDMI cables between your HDMI source and display.

Three inputs accommodate the simultaneous connection of up to three high definition video sources, such as PS3, satellite HD Receiver, HD DVR systems and HD DVD/Blueray DVD players.

The output sends the high definition audio/video signals to a high definition display. Switching is done via the IR remote that is provided with the units.

After doing some research, I ordered this hdmi 3 to 1 switcher. Shipping was quick and installation was "even a caveman can do it" easy. It hooked up to my Direct TV cable box and actually improved my 1080p viewing. I would highly recommend this unit
